Makers and Creators

Makers and Creators is BACK! Thanks to the Sage Foundation, we'll be running our 5-day programme for 8 - 16 year olds in coding, robotics and electronics during the October half-term holidays. There will be volunteer mentors from Sage on-hand to help and support you in creating your own project which you will showcase at our Code Monsters Maker Party on Saturday 28th October. It's up to you if you want to build your project as part of a team, or if you want to go it alone - either way there will be plenty of people to help you out.

***PLEASE NOTE*** Our October programme will include similar content to the previous Makers and Creators programme, as this time around there will be a main focus on making a working project to showcase and be part of our Code Monsters event on Saturday 28th October. If your child has previously attended, please bear this in mind.

What do I need to know?

An understanding of drag & drop programmes, as well as some basic python

What do I need to bring?

- Please bring a laptop along with you to each session. (We have a couple of spare laptops available, but please let us know beforehand and we will try to arrange one for you. These will only be available on a first-come-first-served basis)

- While there will be snacks available to buy, lunch isn’t provided. You will need to bring a packed lunch with you.

Timings

Monday - Thursday

10am - Session input (this will be a guided lesson on coding/electronics/robotics)

12pm - Lunch

1pm - Work from Campus North on your own project with help and support from mentors

3pm - Finish

Friday

10am - Work on projects for Show and Tell

12pm - Lunch

1pm -Show & Tell for parents/guardians, mentors, and sponsors

Parental Consent

Closer to the time, we will send consent forms for your parents/guardians to sign, therefore please ensure we have a correct email address for you/your parents.

Limited spaces

We have limited spaces for October's Makers & Creators, so if you are no longer able to attend please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your space to someone else.
