About this event

Women in Tech North East is an inclusive and welcoming network for women and non-binary people in the North East of England. If you have a passion for all things digital and tech, come and join us!

We're excited to be partnering with Womble Bond Dickinson, and CyberNorth as part of CyberFest23.

Join us for an afternoon of inspirational insights. Then enjoy some refreshments, while meeting other people from the community who are interested in digital and tech!

Mads Howard - Sage

Mads Howard is a People Centred Security Specialist working within the Security Culture space at Sage. She has developed and delivered Sage’s Security Culture Programme that seeks to demystify cyber security and empower colleagues to thrive securely. Her work also focuses on security culture within development and engineering teams and looks at how to shift security everywhere across the software development lifecycle.

Madeline has a keen passion for engaging and inspiring the next generation of cyber security professionals and in 2019 delivered the UKs first EmPowerCyber. She is now delivering this event in the North East and will engage 1,200 girls in November of 2023.

Jo Larby - Accenture

Jo is a Technical Architect who works at Accenture, after graduating with a degree in Computer Science from Northumbria University. She was a TechWomen100 2022 winner and featured on the 2023 Northern Power Women Future List. Primarily focussing on the front-end of Government Systems, Jo enjoys working with clients to shape solutions whilst supporting junior members of staff grow in their technology careers. S

he is an advocate for getting more women into tech, at all stages of their careers, and using tech for good to support charities and improve social value

Anna Taylor - Artic Wolf

Anna Taylor is the People Director for Arctic Wolf UK, based in Newcastle. Anna is passionate about creating safe environments that promote continual learning for innovation & competitive advantage. Anna has worked for Vodafone, Abbey National, Rolls-Royce & Tensar. She gained her HRM degree at Northumbria University and then gained a variety of qualifications including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Mental Health First Aider, NLP Coach & Clinical Behavioural Hypnotherapy.

Emma Welch - Womble Bond Dickinson

Emma is a dispute resolution lawyer at Womble Bond Dickinson who specialises in commercial disputes, particularly technology related matters. Emma helps to lead Womble Bond Dickinson's women's network, Thrive and is head of Thrive's external engagement. Emma is passionate about supporting others to reach their full potential and creating diverse and inclusive workplaces. She has been a mentor for the charity "The Girls Network" which aims to inspire and empower girls from the least advantaged communities by connecting them to a mentor and network of professional role models.
